HOMESTEADER'S RANCH

BARN VIEW- BESENDORFER RANCH

This painting was also done at the plein air event in Midway, UT.  At another ranch, we met a rancher whose land had been in his family from the time of the homesteader's.  It was a very interesting location for painting since the rancher had a museum of sorts of all the old equipment that had been used in years past. This painting was done on a dark toned canvas which made me lay down a good amount of paint in the process.

ORANGE

Orchard Fresh

These beautiful tangerines were calling to me at the grocery.  I love to be able to get food that still has  its evidence of freshness still attached.  It gives new meaning to the phrase, just picked.  Though I'm sure these beauties traveled many miles to get to the midwest, they are a welcome treat.

BACK TO POSTING

DESPERATE DAISY

I have been on the go lately and remiss in posting.  I have been painting lots but not getting much posting done, so here goes.  The title for this painting came about when arranging the flowers for this small still life.  The one daisy just kept wanting to droop forward, so I left it.   Now I have the perfect title, because it seems like it is desperate to get it the painting. What do you think?

The Visit

MIDWAY ASPENS

A little over a week ago, I visited our daughter Erin, who lives and works in Utah.  It was past the time that the Aspens were at their peak, but I didn't care.  It was still beautiful there and on one of our drives up into the mountains, we spied some Aspens still hanging on to their gorgeous golden leaves.

This painting is from a photo I took in Midway, after going over Guardsman Pass and before heading back to Park City.  The light was just right and the leaves just glowed. Hope you enjoy this slice of mountain beauty.

Sunlit Willow
